Therapy for peace of mind.
Life can be overwhelming.
Therapy can offer solid ground as you find your footing again.

About Amy
I’m a clinical social worker, and for more than 20 years I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges. In my work, I've seen how a strong therapeutic relationship can help turn the dark and tangled places into healing and growth.
I've been fortunate to work with clients in a variety of settings. These experiences included providing therapy within the Brigham and Women's psychiatry program, leading eating disorder initiatives and recovery programs, and directing the counseling department at Brandeis University. I've also taught and supervised emerging clinicians at Salem State University, Boston College, and the Eating Disorder Institute at Plymouth State University. I am now fully devoted to my private practice, where I draw on these experiences to support clients in making meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. I focus on the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, OCD, phobias, grief and loss, and relationship issues.
As a queer identified therapist, I am a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I embrace all genders, sexual orientations, and relationship structures.
Approaches
In our work together, we may draw from various therapies in order to meet your unique goals.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a structured method for processing traumatic memories. It helps reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences so you can move forward with greater ease and resilience.
Dialectical Behavior
Therapy (DBT)
DBT provides concrete skills for managing strong emotions, improving communication, and finding balance between acceptance and change. I’ll help you practice these tools so they become part of your everyday life.
Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy (ACT)
ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility. You’ll learn to accept difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions that align with your values, helping you live a more meaningful life.
Mindfulness
Practices
Mindfulness helps you slow down, tune into the present moment, and cultivate self-compassion. These practices can reduce stress, increase clarity, and strengthen your ability to respond thoughtfully rather than react automatically.
Polyvagal
Theory
Approach
This approach works with the nervous system to help you understand and regulate stress responses. By fostering a sense of safety and connection, you can strengthen resilience and improve your ability to engage fully in relationships and daily life.
Areas of Focus
Trauma Therapy & EMDR
Trauma can leave lasting imprints on the mind and body. EMDR is an evidence‑based approach that helps process distressing memories, reduce emotional intensity, and restore a sense of calm and stability.
Phobias
Phobias can limit daily life and create intense fear responses. Therapy helps you gradually face fears in safe, manageable steps, reducing avoidance and restoring freedom.
Grief & Loss
Grief is a natural but often overwhelming response to loss. Therapy offers a compassionate space to honor your experience, process emotions, and find ways to carry your loss while continuing to live with resilience and connection.
Eating Disorders & Body Image
Eating disorders affect both emotional and physical well‑being, often tied to trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, or shame. In therapy, we’ll explore the function of the disorder, rebuild a healthier relationship with food and body, and strengthen identity and self‑worth.
OCD
Obsessive‑Compulsive Disorder can feel like being trapped in cycles of intrusive thoughts and compulsions. Focusing on breaking these cycles through CBT, exposure and response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness will help you regain peace of mind.
Identity Exploration,
Gender Transition & LGBTQIA+
Identity work is deeply personal. I provide space for LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring gender and sexuality. Therapy offers support as you navigate this process.
Anxiety
Anxiety often feels overwhelming when thought patterns get stuck or the nervous system is overworked. Therapy helps you understand the root causes, develop grounding strategies, shift unhelpful thoughts, and build resilience.
Depression
Depression can drain energy, motivation, and hope. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore underlying causes, shift negative thought patterns, and reconnect with meaning, joy, and self‑compassion.
Couple & Relationship Therapy
I work with couples, monogamous and non-monogamous, on improving their communication, healing past hurts, managing conflict, building trust, managing jealousy, and fostering emotional and sexual connection.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Let’s Connect
Choosing the right therapist can feel overwhelming. I offer a consultation phone call, free of charge. This will give us an opportunity to talk about what’s going on in your life and how I may be able to support you. The consultation is focused on making sure we’re the right fit and answering any questions you may have.
I do not accept insurance directly, but many clients are able to use their out‑of‑network benefits to help cover the cost of therapy. If your plan offers this option, I can provide superbills, which are receipts to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I encourage you to check with your provider to understand your specific coverage and benefits.
I am licensed in Massachusetts, New York,
New Hampshire, Maine, Minnesota, and Vermont.
I look forward to connecting with you. Call, text, or fill out the form below.
